THIS POST HAS BEEN DELETED BY COPYRIGHT. (Article 13)
Article 13, is a controversial law that was created by the European Union that affects online copyright. What does this mean? Well in March 27, 2019, the members of the European Parliament had adopted this new copyright law that puts filters all over what is uploaded onto the internet. Basically the European Union Directive required the likes from Youtube, Facebook and Twitter to take more responsibility for copyrighted material that is shared "illegally" on their platforms. To even break this down even more, content such as memes you see very much all over the internet or popular videos would impossible to "re-upload" even if it is changed drastically to go under the fair-use agreement because it is now copyrighted material. This law was created mostly to put an end to the days of pirating material online instead and to ensure the content creator or artists receives a payment from now on. However, content creators mainly creators on Youtube that live in Europe may have been greatly affected as some of their content may contain copyrighted material. If your content creator had copyrighted material in some of their videos, well that video may just be gone by now. As well as the money they had been earning from those videos, which is almost the reason why it is quite concerning for those in European content creators.

From my opinions, I don't seem affected almost obviously due to me living outside of Europe. However if I watched content creators from Europe and I would have heard the news of Article 13, I wouldn't be too impacted but I would have been way more shocked over the law. Although, if I were to be placed within their position and if I were to profit from the videos I created. I would feel most likely very anxious as I am too a content creator on similar platforms that they share, and majority of the content I create revolve around internet jokes or memes to be specific, as well as I use copyrighted music from artists. Although some content creators within Europe are bypassing this law through VPNs which are very accessible through app stores or on the internet. Overall my opinion on this law is that I believe it is great towards the creators being paid correctly, but I believe that also other creators are in a horrible position due to the law.
